I have been getting breathless in the mid of night for the past week which disturbs my sleep. I have been having gerd for a month or so for which I have been taking a PPI. I have bloating and heartburn as well. It seems like it is getting better through out the day. But this night time disturbance has me concerned. Is my symptom gerd related? I did visit the ER after this night time thing initiated. My BP, random sugar and o2 levels are normal. I was told it is due to gerd and it should subside soon. Could it be anything else?

It sounds like you are experiencing significant discomfort due to your symptoms, particularly the breathlessness at night. Given your history of GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease) and the associated symptoms of bloating and heartburn, it is possible that your breathing issues could be related to GERD, especially when lying down.
The fact that you visited the ER and had normal blood pressure, blood sugar, and oxygen levels is reassuring. However, the persistent nature of your breathlessness warrants further investigation.
I recommend consulting with a specialist for a comprehensive evaluation to rule out any other underlying conditions that could be contributing to your symptoms. Additional tests, such as a liver function test, as suggested by the other doctors, may also be beneficial.
For a better evaluation and treatment plan, please feel free to consult me directly or WhatsApp me at eight hundred nine eight two one three three two. I look forward to helping you find relief.
Sorry for your troubles, Feeling uneasiness after lying down in GERD is normal, for which medication is prescribed.
But having breathlessness in mid night can be due to other conditions too, for which a detailed history will be required.
