As your Braces had been removed recently, there is a possibility that your spaces will be closed by retainer itself. But you will have to wear retainers consistently atleast for a year.

The gap will be closed by the retainers. Removable retainers need to be worn consistently over 1 year and for prolonged periods during the day for maximum efficacy.

After removal of braces, you need to wear retainers for a fixed period (as per your doctor). You can go for removable or fixed retainers.
