Bone pain in lower leg

My father is 59 years old.he was hit by the iron rod of a vehicle and injured his right lower leg, just below the knee.the pain is increasing and he is not able to stand or walk and stumbling. He says he can feel that his leg bone is hurt and that is why pain is more.

I used to go for jogging and I got pain in my lower leg for the last 2 weeks and I stopped running also. But still the pain exists. Pain is near the shin bone area. I donot know whether the pain is in bone or muscles around the shin bone.
