Please consult an ENT Specialist for complete evaluation of your Pharynx and Larynx and examination of the nose. If no cause is found, get an X ray chest done and consult a General Physician.

Response: Blood-stained mucus, especially without significant cough or cold, may have several causes, such as minor nasal trauma (due to dryness or forceful nose-blowing), irritated mucosa, or previous sinus infections leaving residual inflammation. However, to ensure there's no underlying condition, a thorough evaluation is essential. To address this, avoid forceful blowing of the nose, and keep your nasal passages moist with saline sprays. Applying a small amount of antibiotic ointment (like Neosporin) gently inside the nostrils can help heal any minor abrasions. However, persistent blood in mucus warrants a more detailed investigation, including a nasal endoscopy or imaging if necessary. This will help rule out conditions like chronic sinusitis, nasal polyps, or rarely, other nasal or systemic issues. I recommend scheduling a private consultation so I can thoroughly assess your condition and provide the best treatment tailored to your needs. You can contact me at eight zero zero nine eight two one three three two for further assistance.
