A simple cough and cold is almost always viral and settles in 5-7 days, and the usual symptomatic medicines do not interfere with PCOD at all.
Steam inhalation two to three times a day, warm saline gargles, plenty of warm fluids and proper rest remain the most effective measures.
For a blocked or running nose, cetirizine 10 mg at bedtime for 3-5 days is safe, and paracetamol 500 mg can be taken if there is fever or body ache.
For a dry cough a plain honey-based syrup helps, while a productive cough responds better to an ambroxol-type expectorant; please avoid steroid-containing combination syrups and self-started antibiotics.
Do watch out for fever beyond three days, breathlessness, wheeze, chest pain or discoloured sputum, as these need a proper examination.

Its resolved by own without taking medicine in 4 to 5 days. If you want medicine still then take Syp.ambroxolol for cough.

A simple cough and cold with no other red flags usually settles on its own within a week. Having PCOD doesn't change how this needs to be treated.
