Hi
Today I could see blood in stool. It was bright red. I have cramps in stomach. It is happening even after me eating healthy foods. From two to three days I have been suffering from constipation. I had done blood tests, abdominal ultrasound scanning and chest xray and my hemoglobin was 11. These tests were done two months back. Sometimes it is on and off gas bloating and some discomfort. I don't know what to do. Now blood in stool is scarring me a lot. I have heart palpitations as well. There is no major tiredness...Please help me.

Bright red blood in stool with constipation suggests hemorrhoids or anal fissure, but could be more serious (polyps, IBD, colitis). Low hemoglobin 11 indicates anemia from bleeding. Need urgent colonoscopy despite tests 2 months ago. Heart palpitations may be from anemia. See gastroenterologist immediately.
Next Steps
See gastroenterologist urgently for colonoscopy Increase fiber, water intake Take stool softeners Iron supplements for anemia Avoid straining during bowel movements Don't delay - blood in stool needs evaluation
Health Tips
This is serious - don't ignore. Blood in stool with anemia needs urgent investigation. Could be benign (piles) or serious (cancer, IBD). Early detection is crucial for treatment success.

Mention , whether there is back pain or not ?
Generally in this in females , it occurs due to less water intake and eating processed and fiber less food. There is pain during defecation And the condition is known as Anal fissure.
Do DRE ( digital rectal examination ) in any nearby hospital , if there is no pain.
Drink plenty of water
Eat fiber rich food
Do sitz bath TDS for 2 weeks
Consult me for medications.
The most probable provisional diagnosis in this clinical context is either hemorrhoids or an anal fissure due to constipation, but other causes should be carefully ruled out through clinical assessment and appropriate investigations.

Health Tips
do sitz bath in warm (tolerable) water in a broad tub.for twice daily for 10 mins
Hello, I am Dr. Romain Rajan, General Physician.
Your case has been allotted to me.
I understand your concern. Seeing blood in stool can be alarming, but bright red blood is most commonly due to fissure or piles caused by constipation or straining. Since you also have gas, bloating, and abdominal cramps, the underlying issue may be related to irregular bowel movement or mild intestinal irritation.
1. Advices
Increase water intake to 3â3.5 litres daily and include fibre-rich foods like papaya, banana, and vegetables.
Avoid spicy food, tea, coffee, and long fasting gaps.
Sit in warm water (sitz bath) twice daily for 10â15 minutes if you feel burning or pain while passing stool.
2. What to Monitor
Frequency and amount of bleedingâwhether streaks on stool or dripping blood.
Change in stool colour (black or tarry stool may indicate internal bleeding).
Persistence of abdominal pain or any unexplained weight loss.
3. Management
You may take Isabgol husk (2 teaspoons in warm water at bedtime) to ease constipation. A mild stool softener like Cremaffin Plus 10â15 ml at night for 3â5 days can also help. Avoid self-medicating with painkillers.
If bleeding continues beyond 3â4 days or worsens, you should get a proctoscopy or colonoscopy done to confirm the cause and rule out fissure, hemorrhoids, or colitis.
4. When to Consult a Doctor Immediately
Continuous bleeding or black-coloured stool.
Severe abdominal pain, vomiting, or dizziness.
Palpitations worsening or feeling faint.
Every patientâs situation is unique. For accurate diagnosis and lasting relief, itâs important to discuss your current bowel pattern and any medications youâre using.

It’s understandable to feel alarmed seeing bright red blood in the stool, but it’s usually from a lower bowel cause such as an anal fissure (small tear due to constipation) or piles (hemorrhoids), especially when associated with recent hard stools and straining. However, persistent bleeding, abdominal cramps, or altered bowel habits can sometimes suggest other conditions like colitis or polyps that need evaluation. Since your symptoms have been on and off for a few months with new bleeding and palpitations, I’d recommend a detailed review, including a stool occult blood test and possibly a proctoscopy or colonoscopy if indicated. Meanwhile, drink plenty of fluids, take a fiber-rich diet or mild stool softener to avoid straining, and avoid spicy or processed food. Let’s go through your full history and reports once in detail through my consultation so I can guide you with the exact diagnosis and treatment plan confidently.~~~

Hello, I’m Dr. Pradeep Dahiya.
Bright red blood in stool — especially with constipation, cramps, and bloating — is most often due to anal fissure or internal hemorrhoids, caused by hard stools or straining. Since you already had mild anemia (Hb 11), it’s important we recheck hemoglobin and stool routine to rule out any ongoing bleed or colitis.
Palpitations can be from anxiety or mild low hemoglobin — both are manageable once we identify the trigger.
Right now, focus on softening stools (high-fiber diet, isabgol husk, more fluids) and avoid straining.
For temporary relief, Daflon 500 mg BD + Lactulose syrup 15 ml at night can help until we review your reports.
Let’s connect once privately — I’ll assess your history and guide whether a local exam or colon evaluation is needed. Don’t worry, this is treatable once we identify the exact cause.
