Greetings,  sorry about the pain. Your back is due to loss of hip flexibility and nothing to do with spinal cord and don't warrant x ray or scan. If you have long sitting hours you probably have every chance of increasing back pain which is due to poor abdominal strength. As a home program do hamstring stretch.  Also ice the area twice a day.
Next Steps
get to see a physio near you who has knowledge about trigger point therapy and exercise program to strength your abs.  your pain should be 40% relieved in 3 sessions and next 60% pain should be relieved in next couple of weeks.

Back pain with out leg pain usually settles with physio. Once pain settles do back muscle strengthening exercises. Drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration because dehydrated disc is more prone to injury. Consult orthopaedic doctor
