Usually twisted ankle can result in a sprain which is a tear in the ligaments around the Ankle. RICE - rest, ice packs for 3 days, compression with crepe bandage and elevation by putting pillows under the leg. This helps. If after 3 days swelling and pain don't reduce then go for an xray to rule out a fracture of the ankle. In this case, you may need a plaster and longer time to heal.
Next Steps
do get vitamin d injection
