On March I had contrast enhanced Ct scan of my chest. Soon I started having redness and itchiness on few spots. So the nurse administered antihistamine via IV channel. Within a second I started having extreme dizziness and was in and out of consciousness. I was put on a stretcher and was asked to lie down.
Few points I noted :
1) The nurses didn't even monitor my BP or pulse rate.
2) They didn't even know what was happening to me.
3) How come nurses of Apollo didn't know it might be anaphylaxis?
4) What if it would have turned into anaphylactic shock and they would still be clueless and I might have died instead as it happens in matter of minutes.
Now as a follow up I am ordered to have contrast enhanced MRI for my thymic lesion and I am terrified to have one.
Do nurses and radiologist in India doesn't have idea of anaphylaxis because of contrast?

People working in CT and MRI aren't nurses actually they are technicians & there is hardly any radiologist present in diagnostic centers.
They give the reports from remote locations usually.
You shouldn't get any contrast study further without any supervision of a doctor and preferably get studies done where there is also ICU facility for eg. In any super specialty hospital.
