Platelets and WBC count differ
Hello sir/madam,
My mother had a fever and the doctor asked to take blood tests and in that test, the platelet count was 2.8 lakhs/cumm and WBC were 8600 cells/cumm and asked to take antibiotics and few infection medicines for fever and we started to take those which is just yesterday but today we went to diagnostic center for taking the tests again and in that report the platelet count was 1.81 lakhs/cumm and WBC are 4900 cells/cumm. Though it was in the normal range I wanted to check if this is normal as both platelets count and wbc Count decreased. Please help me fastly as I am having fear whether the counts are decreasing.

You 2nd cbc shows a viral picture with decreased WBC count and fall in platelets, most likely dengue.
The first cbc is normal as it was early in the disease course.

It looks as if you got the tests done from different Laboratories. The WBC count Platelets count can't fall by 40% within 24 hours however strong the medicine might be. But since all the parameters done so far are within normal limits there is no cause for worry.
Please continue with the medicine. If she becomes afebrile then it is all right. Otherwise you will have to get some more tests done.
