You're not diabetic yet ...if you take care of your dietary and exercise habits ,you can get your blood sugar levels within normal limits. Otherwise if not then with increasing age it could become diabetic

Your fasting sugar of 116 is typical for prediabetes (normal cutoff is under 100, while diabetes starts at 126). However, an HbA1c of 6.5 is the exact borderline where clinical diabetes begins. Because one marker is prediabetic and the other is right at the cutoff, we never label a patient diabetic based on just one test. It needs a repeat check or a quick glucose tolerance test to be sure.
Next Steps
See a physician in person to repeat the fasting sugar and HbA1c, or get an oral glucose tolerance test (OGTT) done to confirm where you stand. Get your lipid profile and blood pressure checked as well to see the full picture. Cut down on refined sugars, bakery items, and excess carbs starting today. Try to fit in 30 minutes of brisk walking every day.
Health Tips
Do not panic at all—catching this right at the borderline is actually good timing. With disciplined dietary changes and regular walking, numbers like these often reverse back into the completely normal range without needing any medication. Just make sure not to self-medicate.

-HbA1c 6.5% is in the diabetes range, while fasting glucose 116 mg/dL is in the prediabetes range. -If you have no classic symptoms or unequivocal hyperglycemia, diabetes should be confirmed with a repeat HbA1c or another diagnostic test.
Next Steps
-Start medical nutrition therapy, regular exercise, weight management if indicated, and reduce refined carbohydrates. -Discuss the results with a physician to assess risk factors and decide whether medication is needed.
Health Tips
-Avoid sugary drinks, maintain a balanced diet, exercise for at least 150 minutes weekly, and monitor your blood glucose as advised. -Do not assume the average glucose of 140 alone establishes the diagnosis; HbA1c and laboratory glucose criteria guide classification. Given your HbA1c levels, would classify you under diabetic. But the levels are on lower limit of the range. Medical nutrition therapy is recommended at this point. And to repeat investigations post a month
Next Steps
Would need a detailed medical history and details of the comorbidities. I'd be happy to assist you on further treatment plan. For personalised medical guidance and a detailed assessment of your concerns, kindly book an online consultation with me through the Practo app!

Your HbA1c of 6.5% falls in the diabetes range, since diabetes is diagnosed at 6.5% or above. Your fasting glucose of 116 sits in the prediabetes range on its own, but when both numbers point the same way, the HbA1c carries more weight since it reflects your average sugar over the past 3 months.
Next Steps
A repeat HbA1c or fasting glucose test on a separate day is the usual next step to confirm this before starting treatment. Cutting back on refined carbs and sugar, and adding daily exercise, helps either way.
Health Tips
Please consult a physician or diabetologist soon to confirm the diagnosis and discuss whether medication is needed now.
