It seems that you had a wisdom tooth extraction and root canal treatment for the adjacent tooth. However, you're currently experiencing pain and your dentist has diagnosed a bone infection. The prescribed medications, such as Augmentin (an antibiotic), Aceclofenac (a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug), and Ranitidine (used for reducing stomach acid), are commonly prescribed to address infections and reduce pain. It's important to follow your dentist's instructions and complete the course of medication as prescribed. Antibiotics can help clear the infection, while the anti-inflammatory medication can help alleviate pain and reduce inflammation. If your symptoms do not improve after completing the medication, or if the pain persists or worsens, it's crucial to follow up with your dentist. They may need to reassess the situation and determine if further treatment, such as removing the cap and cleaning the area in-depth, is necessary. Each patient's situation is unique, and the response to treatment can vary. In some cases, a course of antibiotics and anti-inflammatory medication can effectively resolve the infection and alleviate the pain. However, if the infection persists or there are underlying issues, additional procedures or treatments may be required. It's best to communicate your concerns and symptoms to your dentist, as they will be able to provide you with the most accurate advice and recommend the best course of action based on their professional assessment.

Hi Sometimes root canal treated tooth can get reinfected and cause symptoms. If you have pain while chewing on that tooth ,it’s better to see the dentist, get the cap removed and evaluate the tooth for possible crack. If the extend of crack is minor you can get retreated and cap placed again. Please finish the prescription that was given to you and if symptoms continue see the dentist for evaluation. I hope this helps .
