Avoid spicy and deep fried food. Increase fibre intake Drink plenty of water. Try to follow 3hrly meal schedule which include 3 major and 3 minor meal. Major meals are breakfast, lunch and dinner. Minor meals include fruits and light food. After major meals try to complete 1000 steps or 10 mins slow walk at home or working place only. After following above measures if your problem persists then you can go for medicines like PPI or drugs prescribed by your consultant.

Hello, I am Dr. Romain Rajan, General Physician. Ex-Resident, RML Hospital, New Delhi. Your case has been allotted to me. Based on your concern of gas, bloating, heaviness, and difficulty in passing stools, this is commonly seen due to irregular eating habits, low fiber intake, inadequate hydration, sedentary lifestyle, or functional acidity/indigestion. In most cases, this can be effectively managed with diet correction and simple lifestyle changes. Diet & Lifestyle Guidance for Light Stomach and Easy Motions Meal Frequency & Quantity • Eat 4–5 small meals per day instead of 2–3 heavy meals • Each meal should leave you 80% full, not completely stuffed • Avoid long gaps between meals (>4 hours) Foods to Prefer • Warm, freshly cooked home food • Breakfast: oats, vegetable poha, idli, upma, eggs, or curd (if tolerated) • Lunch: roti or rice + dal + sabzi + curd/buttermilk • Dinner: light and early (before 8 pm) – soup, khichdi, dal-chawal, vegetable curry • Include fiber daily: fruits (papaya, apple, pear), vegetables, salad • Use isabgol (psyllium husk) 1–2 teaspoons at night with warm water if stools are hard Foods to Limit/Avoid • Fried, spicy, oily, and junk foods • Bakery items, excess tea/coffee, cold drinks • Late-night eating • Excess onions, cabbage, cauliflower, and beans if they cause gas Habits That Help • Drink 2.5–3 liters of water daily • Walk for 10–15 minutes after meals • Regular morning routine for bowel movement (do not suppress urge) • Light exercise or yoga daily (especially walking, pranayama) When to See a Doctor Immediately Seek medical attention if you develop: • Severe or persistent abdominal pain • Unintentional weight loss • Blood in stools or black stools • Persistent constipation or diarrhea despite diet changes • Vomiting or fever For a detailed, personalized diet plan and medical guidance, you may connect with me on my WhatsApp number: 85271646 seven seven for this concern or any future medical queries. Gas, bloating, and heavy stomach usually improve with small, frequent meals instead of large ones. Eat 4–5 light meals/day, chew food well, and avoid overeating.

Basic and most easy thing that people ignore is eating breakfast . Never skip your breakfast and eat small meals in between , don’t keep stomach empty for too long. Avoid taking medications for small things(most important cause of acidity) Start with simple to do things instead of medications .
