The experience at the clinic was not very pleasant. I had taken an appointment at 2.30PM with a hope that I will avoid staff lunch break. After paying the bill for tests that doctor advises, I walked to the check-up area and - lo and behold - the receptionist told me to wait for 20mins as Echo/TMT technician was having lunch. I waited for 30 mins and decide it was enough and walked into the Echo room - the technician told me she was doing nothing for the last 20 mins !! The receptionist was chit-chatting all the while. To my surprise, the TMT technician told me they had a breakdown with tread-mill and had opened it up a few minutes back! What was the receptionist doing all the while - chit-chatting. The hospital operational setup is poor - the staff is untrained, and frankly most of them don't even care. Its pathetic to see that the receptionist/technician thought it was not her duty to inform the billing guys about the breakdown. Nonetheless, she could have informed me as soon as I walked in ! It was only that after I raised a big alarm with their patient relation manager, that they organized a cab to their AECS layout facility to complete the TMT test. The while process took 3 hours, while the tests were only a matter of 10-15 mins. It was not like I had come there for a routine blood-test. I had severe chest pain, and the doctor had asked some quick tests to be done. I was lucky that it was a false alarm - otherwise, precious time lost could have meant all the different between something serious.
I can see that the doctors practicing at the clinic are decent, but the hospital as such is poorly managed. But, as with all hospitals in India, you don't have a damn choice!
