We had the privilege of being treated by Dr. Mahendra M, MS, M.Ch (Neuro Surgery), who also holds a prestigious fellowship in Neuro Endoscopy from Germany. Dr. Mahendra is one of the most skilled and compassionate neurosurgeons in Bangalore, and his approach to patient care is both thorough and empathetic. My father-in-law, Mr. CH Hanumantha Rao, a 68-year-old male, was admitted with complex neuro-related issues and was under Dr. Mahendra’s expert supervision. He clearly explained the diagnosis and the need for a right-sided Ventriculo-peritoneal shunt, which was successfully performed on 29th July 2025 under general anesthesia, with shunt pressure set at 90mm. The procedure was conducted with precision, and the post-operative phase was smooth with no fresh neurological deficits. He was carefully managed with antiepileptic and neuroprotective medications, and his post-operative fever was promptly treated with antipyretics. Dr. Mahendra’s ability to blend clinical expertise with patient-centric care was instrumental in my father-in-law’s steady recovery. His neurological condition improved significantly, and he was discharged with a structured neurorehabilitation plan.
