Based on lot of research and multiple suggestions from different people, I decided to consult Dr. Vidyadhara S (HOD Spine Department - Manipal Hospital) for my mother Renu Anand's spine problem as she was suffering from Leg pain & numbness since last few years due to her spine issue. While consultation he patiently examined deeply, listened to her problem and gave us the much needed confidence and advise to undergo a spine surgery L3/L4 and L5/L6 fusion/decompression. Because of his level of knowledge, confidence and expertise we did not give a second thought and decided to go ahead for the surgery. Her surgery happened last week on 18th Aug 2022 and I am happy to say that she started walking on the evening of her surgery date itself and as today its her 5th day post surgery she is improving everyday. Our experience with Dr. Amrita Rao over a period of four months was deeply disappointing. My wife was pregnant at the time, and we had been consulting her during that period. We were covered under a government medical scheme, applicable for me. While we were grateful to have eventually made a change, we sincerely hope that future patients are met with greater professionalism and empathy.
