BRIEF
I am having hypertension and diabetes for the last 15 years. About 4 years ago I was diagnosed with OSA(obstructive sleep apnea) after 'sleep test' by a pulmunologist. But my sleep was not sound and the nose used to get blocked after 4 or 5 hours of sleep and then I was forced to remain awake with sleep deficit day after day. This was even after usage of CPAP machine night after night. My workplace is UAE and whenever I visited Bangalore my nose used to get clogged which required me to visit doctor. In fact I was recommended to go for surgery of Deviated Nasal Septum(DNS).
PATHFORWARD
My cardiologist with Burjeel Hospital - Abu Dhabi insisted that I should go for DNS surgery. In fact I was seeing this cardiologist for the first time in August 2023 after my earlier cardiologist with another hospital was out of town.
SEARCH FOR AN ENT SURGEON
I was scheduled for vacation in Bangalore and thought to get the surgery done for OSA. I tried to get hold of a good ENT doctor by seeking help through various social media groups. I browsed through the internet and got to see Dr. Diptarka Bhattacharya's profile.
VISIT TO MANIPAL HOSPITAL AND MEETING DR.DIPTARKA BHATTACHARYA.
With prior appointment I visited Dr. on 31st Oct'2023. Dr. Diptarka heard about my health issues. He then explained me the options available. It was a detailed explanation which is even understandable to any layman. The first thing he asked for was to get the CT scan of nose / skull. Within an hour of CT scan report and its analysis the surgery date was fixed on 2nd Nov.2023.
The surgery was successful and I got discharged on 3rd Nov.2023 and on 9th Nov.'2023 splints were removed.
ABOUT DR. DIPTARKA BHATTACHARYA
My interactions with the Dr. prior and post surgery has given me the impression that he is a thorough professional. I zeroed on Dr.Diptarka just by going through his profile when I was on the look out for a qualified and experienced doctor. Literally, I fished out Dr. Diptarka from my internet search. I am glad that my choice of doctor tuned out to be so excellent.
Dr.Diptarka knows his craft well enough. He patiently explains the protocol he would execute during the course of treatment. More importantly he is open to queries from the patient to clear any iota of doubt. His amicable behaviour and body language puts the patient at ease and gives the assurance of a successful treatment.
THANKS TO DR. DIPTARKA BHATTACHARYA AND HIS TEAM
Post surgery I am recuperating and getting sound sleep and this is indeed a gift for me for which I can't thank enough the Dr. and his team consisting of nurses and other doctors.
I must further mention that the support staff at reception ,billing, insurance, pharmacy, security, nursing station , janitors were extremely courteous and ever ready to help me out.
Once again thanks a lot Dr. and wish you all the best in your professional career.

After waiting for almost 1 hr 15 mins , doctor received me and started his inspection. The least I expect from a doctor is to do an impartial thorough checkup where he can park his presumptions at the bay.
Not just he was uninterested *** *** * ****** *** ** ********** *** ***** According to him my pain is caused because of incorrect position of my ulnar nerve but in last 30 years the position of that ‘funny nerve’ has never changed for me. Furthermore it is the same position in the other hand. He wasn’t able to explain why there was an elbow pain on weight bearing, screw tightening action and wrist clenching - which are the basics of examining the entire hand. And after 5 mins of inspection he advised - Surgery! Can you believe it. He didnt give any explanation to the blunt force trauma that I suffered and how it would have resulted in the pain.
By the end of 5 mins of his inspection he was so disinterested that he didnt cater to my other issue of neck pain. His diagnosis was that - it is due to lifestyle and there is nothing that can be done. I would have accepted that diagnosis if he would have been able to explain why this suddenly started only in last few weeks after my accident while the lifestyle has been like that for years.
I am glad that I got myself checked again from another doctor *** ********** ******** *** ********* *** ********* *** ******* ****** *********
Overall - wouldn’t recommend the hospital nor the doctor.
PS - Practo has mentioned the fees to be 500 but they charged me 850

I am writing to express my profound gratitude and appreciation for the exceptional care and treatment I received from Dr. Diptarka Bhattacharya.I was facing severe sinus and sleep issues, almost every other day my windpipe used to collapse while sleeping, causing minor to major sleep disruption and even causing acid reflux because of the negative pressure, I was not even aware they were related. Dr. Bhattacharya discovered the root cause of my problems: enlarged tonsils and acute sinusitis with an enlarged protrusion in my nasal cavity, which together were causing my sleep apnea. Consequently, I underwent both septoplasty and tonsil removal surgery. As he promised, the procedure was life-changing. Since the surgery, I no longer experience sleep issues or snoring, and the improvement in my quality of life has been significant.Dr. Bhattacharya stood out for his remarkable ability to explain complex medical conditions and procedures in simple terms. He took the time to listen patiently to all my concerns and answered all my questions thoroughly, easing my anxiety about the surgery. He supported me from the beginning until I was completely fit and fine.I have never encountered a doctor so dedicated to his patients' recovery. His enthusiasm and expertise in his work are truly commendable.I highly recommend Dr. Diptarka Bhattacharya to anyone facing ENT issues. His dedication, exceptional medical skills, and compassionate care make him a standout doctor in his field.Thank you, Dr. Bhattacharya, for your outstanding care and for making a profound difference in my life.
