Ms. Sonal Sonawani

Dr Sonal Sonawani is the answer to my prayers for the kind of therapist I was looking for. Since the very first session I have felt very comfortable opening up and talking freely about all my issues and experiences which I have never discussed with anyone before. I have been going to her for about 8 months now for depression, anxiety, low self esteem and childhood issues. She has helped me come out of depression in a relatively short time and helped with all my problems. I also overcame my anxiety issues with her therapy. She is the friendliest therapist that anyone can have and listens to everything without judgment. I look forward to my sessions with her with great interest as with every session she helps me discover something new about me. Her sessions makes me feel happier and enlightened.

I decided to visit Sonal, after I read all of her blogs/articles about depression. They are all very well written and I could completely relate to the feelings and behaviours described.

It took her only one(first) session, to make me feel comfortable and open up about my state of mind then. Her friendliness and non-judgemental attitude would make you feel all at peace while you interact with her.

I was introduced to many new and few known concepts of human psychology through real life scenario and examples. All of the sessions I did with here were very fulfilling in terms of understanding what I feel and why I feel so. I realised after visiting her regularly, my automatic thoughts are changing and the first thought comes in my mind every time something happens that may make me feel not good about myself, was changed! And result - it changed everything after that - my reactions to negative thoughts and I understood how I, myself fed the negative emotions generated out of these negative thoughts.

As she had promised in first session, I'm trained / learned to recognise the negative thought process and find out the root of it myself so I would not be dependent on her help. And I feel this gradual learning process is the best part of all the interactions I have had with her.

Now I'm better aware, about myself, about human psychology and most importantly I'm aware about how I feel and why I feel so, which helps me get over the negative reaction very easily. I actually feet good that I went through this phase of depression as she made me realise, this is an opportunity to understand myself better.

She is an avid reader too and this was another best part of my interaction with her, where we shared about the good reads. She listened to me patiently all the time even though I brought up any irrelevant topic.

I would definitely like to recommend Sonal. I believe all the things I learned from her are going to help me throughout my lifetime and make me a better person.

I was recommended to Sonal maam by my Psychiatrist because I was struggling with suicidal thoughts for a long time. My Appointment was immediately booked and I didn’t have to wait at all for my session. The atmosphere was very welcoming and I was gradually at ease with the whole process. Sonal comes with a great degree of practical understanding of therapy and creates an effective safe & non judgmental space to process one’s difficult emotions. She was able to understand my strengths fairly quickly and made suggestions / nudges keeping in mind what will help me to become more aware of underlying beliefs and behaviour patterns. She always suggested techniques that I could apply in between the sessions. Overall, I would highly recommend her!

Sonal Sonawani is an amazing therapist who gets to the roots of your problems and helps you recover. I remember being depressed and anxious when I started with my therapy, the credits of my speedy recovery go to her. I am extremely glad I took a decision of starting my therapy with her and I cannot thank her enough.

The treatment that I received was wonderful. Dr. Sonal was good in understanding the problem and helping me understand my own personality and how I behave in different situations. She was non judgemental and unbiased in all the situations and helped me deal with the issues that i had since my childhood. She always went to the very roots of the problems and healed them from scratch. So the problems that I had come with were cured completely, and I developed an understanding for them, so that i dont repeat the same things in my life. It was a very happy, empathising and a character building experience for me.
