I already had one late miscarriage (in 23rd week) with the stillbirth of a baby due to a water(Amniotic fluid) leak last year.
It is my second pregnancy. I was diagnosed with gestational diabetes this time in the week of 23rd of my pregnancy.
So, I started following a diet, walking routine after every meal, and taking insulin (8-8-8 / 24 units daily).
My fasting sugar was not under control even for a single day.
The growth scan reports were not good; the baby’s weight was 500 gm+ than the normal range, and the amniotic fluid range was higher than the max limit. Due to all of this, I was feeling tummy tightness and stretching. It was not even comfortable to walk.
As per reports, my gynaecologist suggested I should take insulin of 30 units/day(10-10-10). Dr also predicted that I could have chances of early delivery this time too because AFI was on than higher side and the baby’s growth was 31/32 weeks in 29 weeks.
Then, I met Dr. Shruti Mam for the first time. At that time, I was 30 weeks pregnant. First of all, I would like to tell you she is a very kind person. We discussed a new diet plan with fewer insulin units. And me and my family were surprised with the result. All sugar counts were under control even fasting too with lesser insulin doses(6-6-6).
Today, I’m running in 35th week. As per my Dr Now I’m safe to deliver a baby. I’m taking insulin as 3-4-4. My last scan reports were much better than earlier. I can walk more than 10K steps daily without tummy tightness, stretching and heartburn. My diet is so balanced, that I never felt low on energy.
But to gain this happiness and satisfaction, I had compromised a lot. My sugar intake is 0%. I often crave sweets, but They should be limited to my mind only. Now it seems like, I had forgotten about pregnancy cravings. I had never broken a diet plan, not for a single time. whenever I went to the hospital, I carried all my diet stuff with me and followed meal timings properly. Sometimes, I feel too tired to walk, but I still have to because I don’t want any of my sugar count to get out of normal range. Sometimes, I feel like not walking a single step, but I must walk at least 2K steps after every meal.
The most important part I must mention here is, throughout this journey, the only person who is taking care of me, supporting me, being with me all the time, and reminding me of my medicine, and injections is my husband.
I’m so thankful to Dr Shruti Mam, my gynaecologist, Dr Chinmay sir and my husband.

I wanted to go for normal delivery as it insures better health and immunity for mother and child. Also, I wished to take care of my baby from the day one, which is possible with normal delivery. I visited Dr. Chinmay Umarji after reading reviews on google, but when I met him I was sure that the doctor is not just following best medical practices but he is very much concerned about spreading awareness which is very much needed in our society. I was amazed to experience the concept of birthing partner. I was all time accompanied by my mother which gave me tremendous strength throughout the process. As of now I have only heard of the concept of birthing partner but at Umarji Hospital I experienced the joy. My experience did not just stop at delivery process but aftercare provided was very good right from explaining the importance of Breastfeeding, health care after delivery for mother as well as baby was a great experience. The hospital is having huge team of doctors, nurses and other staff with best possible canteen facilities even during covid situation. All the doctors are very good with similar mindset as Dr. Chinmay. One more very important thing about this hospital is that it is equipped for almost every emergencies and facilities, we never had to go anywhere for any issue during and after delivery. We are fortunate to find this hospital well within time. Also, the hospital is very good with every parameter such as cleanliness, nurses assistance etc. One more very important thing about the doctor is that he conducts regular webinar about different types of delivery, pros and cons of it, how to prepare for delivery, aftercare and many more important issues where he shares important information all this taking out considerable time from his busy schedule. only thing that can be added to existing facilities is a wall clock in patient’s room. Thank you very much doctor for existing and for existing in Pune. - Gauri Tewari.

I am a scientific editor and my job mostly involves a sedentary lifestyle. During my PhD tenure, I gained a significant amount of weight due to stress (76kg). Over the course of almost 3 months, I have come down to 66kg. Dr. Maheshwari helped me with diet plans that were successive in nature to help me adapt to a healthier lifestyle. Her plans were nothing too unachievable but rather some modifications in my behaviour to achieve a target weight. It also helped since I come from a very disciplined and a demanding research background.
To start of, Dr. Maheshwari suggested that I eat dinner early, limit my carb intake and move. Which I followed and started to see results. The next routine included more workouts and a changed diet. Slowly and steadily, my portion size reduced. I feel that, that particular change was the most prominent feature for me to lose weight. As a bangali, we love food and we like to eat a lot of it. But with portion control and exercise, one can control one's health.
I do have a long way to go but Dr. Maheshwari's plans have been very useful indeed where the results have spoken for themselves.
Also, I'd like to add that I was taking my BP medication which was stamlo 5mg everyday. But the weight loss exercise helped me to reduce my medication to 2.5mg everyday, then 2.5mg every alternate days and now just twice a week. The reduction of the dosage was recommended by my specialist who was impressed with my bp levels and the weight loss. PS: I will strongly recommend consulting your physician/internal medicine specialist/doctor before you change your BP medication.

The journey of letting goFor many mothers, losing post pregnancy weight is always an issue. Twenty two years ago, I was blessed with a son and the weight I had gained then, I was carrying until now. A chance meeting with Ms Maheshwary got me started on my journey inwards. All the diets I had tried before got me to ‘lose’ weight. But somehow, this lost weight found its way back to me. This time, I did not lose weight. I willingly let it go. Ms Maheshwary delved deep into my personal, physical and psychological history. No one had ever done that and I doubt anyone does. When I had met her, I was going to a gym. To my surprise, she told me ‘You don’t need a gym. Use your own weight to tackle itself’It would be wrong to call her eating plans as ‘diet’. In the course of the past 3-4 months, Ms Maheshwary taught me to eat properly and proportionately, while enjoying it. I did not have to go out of my way to get something exotic or unaffordable. As the numbers on the weight scale started to reduce, I got more motivation to march ahead. Of course I had my moments when I felt like giving up. But she was always one phone call away and ready with a pep talk to pull me through. Until now I never liked exercise one bit. But now I look forward to exercising every day and start my day on a positive note. The past three months have been life changing for me mentally and physically. I have realized that, the only tough thing about this process was deciding to start with it. Ms Maheswary’s holistic attitude and her vision for me (and her clients) are rare to find these days. Her philosophy towards eating is worth adopting for your lifetime!
