Dr. Sumit Mehta

This review is based on my personal experience.

We referred to all the top doctors possible in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Hyderabad by our network of friends/family.

Before we met any doctor, we shortlisted the best ones on basis of their academia, years of experience, patient reviews on google etc.

After meeting in-person with all the shortlisted ones I decided to get operated by Dr Sumit Mehta due to the confidence expressed in eradicating the stone completely.

He was very patient while answering all my queries. Explains all the possible options that are best for his patients. He isn’t pushy like others and doesn’t take you for a ride. He is in-fact blunt when it comes to logical reasoning, empathetic, non-judgmental. This was critical for me as few male doctors are extremely judgemental when they know that I am 30+ unmarried female, have a habit of giving unsolicited advices on marriage, having kids etc., it’s mentally tough to visit doctors/hospitals for any health reasons.

I underwent mini-perc surgery which was technically challenging due to stone

being located at lower calyx.

Dr. Sumit did an incredible work of removing 2 stones without breaking them.

During my first consultation, he confidently told me that no report gives you correct size and number of stones present,as a matter of fact, he was right.

Post surgery we were shown two stones where reports always showed one stone in KUB sonography of the 10mm and in KUB CT of 13mm.

People who are on homeopathy/Ayurveda pseudoscience meds claim that their stone size has reduced, which isn’t possible and are completely misguided. Hence it’s highly important to get treated by real doctors who are experts in their field.

The entire surgery process was smooth. l was walking within 24 hours. After anaesthesia wore off, had an onset of fever on 3rd day but the medication worked well and was discharged the next day. I have been recovering very well since then. Post 2 weeks of surgery ,KUB sonography showed no stones at all.

I had zero anxiety on the day of surgery as it was not only about trust or faith but getting operated from a very well trained surgeon is what mattered the most, especially for surgeries like Mini-perc which requires high expertise.

He always instilled confidence in every meeting.

Dr Sumit Mehta has been a life saviour.
