Kakul is empathetic and gets to the core of the issue. She provides approaches that work in the long-term.
I like her frameworks-based approach, as it promotes self-reflection and gives reusable tools for more constructive thinking in the long-term. Rather than providing symptomatic relief, her methods work to help you think through your own mental barriers and compromised thinking better. When your own thinking patterns improve on broad terms, you are quicker to notice problematic patterns and deal with them _before_ they become real issues.
I think this is where Kakul excels. She provides the tools and lets you do the fishing every day on your own. I think this is a wonderful approach to therapy - one that frankly _reduces_ the clinging to the therapist, but makes you get on your own feet sooner.
Doctors and therapists are more successful if their patients have to visit them less often! Their success is a bit detrimental to their own ability to rake in the money, but Kakul is above that pettiness. Her approach to therapy is authentic and deeply honest to the purpose.
I had an idea that I had anxiety and depression, but bipolar was definitely news to me. Dr. Kakul broke it to me very well, and helped me understand it’s manageable. At the same time, she did not give me any false hope and was quite candid with me.
My sessions with her have been very fruitful as she breaks down everything, lets me talk and vent, and also provides solutions that are practical and easy.
She also, time and again, mentions a balanced diet, a little exercise and some sun goes a long way!
I was totally clueless when I had my first panic attack and thought I was dying. Dr. Kakul shared sone grounding skills (in the form of PDFs as well), so the next time I had the attack, I didn’t let the discomfort overpower me so much.
I’d been to about 5-6 psychologists before her, but my sessions with her were the most comforting, comfortable, and fruitful.
Kakul has been my therapist for the last 4 months. I'm really happy to say that my experience has been so positive. Kakul is very empathetic and professional at the same time.
