My dad whom I love more than my life ❤️
In the month of Aug started suffering from breathlessness obviously in the covid times multiple thoughts started making way to my head.. should we get him tested and all But since that was the only symptom we dint go for it, consulted a cardiologist and he suggested us to also check with a nephrologist of what could be the reason, Since my dad was already taking treatment from Dr. Burkhe we thought its best to see him.. so we got the blood reports done and went off to see him.. Creatin level—11.7, the pathologist was like looks like this patient is on dialysis and i am like no ways, not knowing what I was in denial off was something he would actually need to be on... Dads condition was not that great and kept on deteriorating he would always have extreme weakness and fatigue, Upon reaching Dr. Burkhe’s clinic, he checked the reports and suggested an immidiate hospital admission followed with dialysis( which he had already suggested could be needed for my dad in future when he visited him in Jan) he explained us so well about what could happen if we dint start treatment asap, since his pottasium level had reached peak and his heart could collapse anytime, nightmare come true. I was still strong from outside but broken from within, dint expect him out of all to go through this..couldnt believe within 30 mins Dr. Burkhe was at the hospital, cathetra was fitted, he was back home and healthy within 3 days ,My dads been suggested dialysis 3rice a week, I accompany him at all times, i love him a little too much to let him be alone😊
We also got the Fistula operation done within a months time...
3 months we’ev come across many complications but all my worries come to rest when I pick my phone drop in a message to Dr Burkhe and i have a reply within seconds beat that..he is available all times on SMS ONLY. I look forward to my monthly visits and banter with him. My dads recovered pretty well...eat wells.. drives, rides does all the household chores, groceries, shopping, He is retired but is an ace Insurance advisor and has his bussiness full fledged, all this is possible today due to that one timely visit advice and suggestions of Dr Burkhe... I can also proudly say this, my dads off any MEDICATION AND HAS NO DIET RESTRICTIONS, we get to eat all cuisines together 😄
Special mention- Dr Burkhe has also got us alligned with the best dialysis techicians and we couldn’t get anyone better than them..
A big thank you..
To me, you’re a magician, a great physician, a special gift from God. Thank you so much for all your contribution and efforts that you do to keep us well.
Your experience and excellence played a big role in boosting up my confidence.
Forever grateful

Just one phrase to describe myself ... Multi System Systemic Lupus Nephritis . My name is Karishma Shaikh. In Paris City in European Union in Oct 2020, I developed swelling of my face. I browsed the internet and learnt about this being possibly kidney issue, and , contacted Dr Sandip Bhurke in Andheri, Mumbai, India. He suggested a video call. Within 5 seconds of the video call, looking at my swollen face with Butterfly rash on my cheeks, Dr Bhurke suggested that I may be having Lupus Nephritis Kidney problem. I flew back urgently to Mumbai, and, Dr Bhurke attended to me in OPD of Prabhakar Bhurke Nephrology Urology and Gynaecology Infertility Clinic Mumbai at 3 AM in the night. I got admitted thereafter. After discharge, special Lupus medicines of Steroids Prednisolone were tapered slowly, but unfortunately again my disease activity increased. My medicines were again increased and slowly tapered. I have now normal life and am back to Europe. I am currently near last step of stoppage of special Lupus Medicines. Currently there is no disease activity as of February 2022. I still do video call consultation from Paris with Dr Sandip Prabhakar Bhurke.

I am an ICU Intensivist Doctor in Andheri Mumbai. My mother Ushadevi was found to have weak Kidneys due to ANCA glomerulonephritis in April 2021. From april 2021 followed up with 3 nephrologist in mumbai but her creatinine level was constantly going up. Her blood pressure was in range of 220/110. In night of 20 December 2021 when her condition was very serious a common friend Doctor referred us to Dr Bhurke. Bhurke sir came to visit us urgently at night 11 pm when all other doctors refused to come and got her admited and immediately started lifelong dialysis and saved her life. My mother has had 6 ICU admissions. She has required change of permacatheter due to infections. She has required 3 times dialysis catheters in neck. During fungal septicemia, my family had given up hope. But, Dr Sandip Bhurke brought her back from the jaws of death. My mother does dialysis 3 times per week in andheri under care of Dr Sandip Bhurke Sir. Now every thing is under control. Kidney Transplant we have canceled because of frequent ill health. Bhurke Sir has come like God to us.

My father Mr. Sripad Bhattacharya was checked by Dr. Bhurke in 2010. My father had a rise in creatinine (2) and electrolyte disturbance due to urine medicine called as diaretics. Within a short time of talking to my father, Dr. Bhurke noticed less emotions on the face of my father. Further physical examination by Dr. Bhurke (which included walking straight) he came to an instantaneous diagnosis of a brain problem called as Parkinson’s disease.
For the electrolyte problem Dr. Bhurke stopped the urine drug diaretic and advised increased salt intake. It really helped my father. Initially our family was surprised at the brain diagnosis but this was confirmed by brain doctors, neurologists. Later on the brain problem was corrected and my father is on regular brain medicines.
Now there is a slow age related rise in creatinine (to 4). Dr. Bhurke has told us not to worry as the slow rise is going to happen and there is no need of urgent dialysis.
Dr. Bhurke is still a topic of our family discussion, how a kidney doctor diagnosing a brain problem within minutes. It’s a miracle for us. It was a pleasure meeting you again for a general check up of my father.

My mother Sunaina Mishra is 50 years old. In May 2019 she developed severe urine infection with effect on urinary bladder and kidneys i.e. cystitis and pyelonephritis. We met Sandip Bhurke at Prabhakar Bhurke Clinic in Andheri. CT scan and sonography confirmed the disease. Dr. Bhurke gave antibiotics and advise to check for woman infection. Gynecologist did PAP smear test of vagina which showed infection of vagintis. CT scan of stomach also showed scarring of kidney. Urologist Doctor opinion was also referred. My mother despite cure, would get repeated urine infections. Hence Dr Bhurke started special antibiotics course for urinary antisepsis for 6 months. Since then the frequency and intensity of my mother's urinary infection has reduced. She sometimes get abdominal pain but urine infection is absent in reports. Hence, Dr Bhurke had advise OGDscopy of stomach and intestine if required. Now my mother is on supportive urinary alkalinizer syrup. We are doing urine report once every month and contacting Dr Bhurke in OPD.

I'm consulting Dr. Sandip Bhurke since 2024 for my mother's renal issues. She is a senior citizen who is diabetic, prone to high BP, and has a single kidney with rising creatinine.
Despite fluctuations, his treatment has ensured that her creatinine remains largely stable. It was 2.21 in Jan 2024 when we started consulting him. It even crossed 3 once, but dropped subsequently. He prescribed helpful medication and nutritional supplements which suited her. He also recommended me vitamins to increase her appetite and manage her weight loss.
As a doctor, he is quite friendly and optimistic with a good sense of humor. He listens patiently, answers all queries, and is also knowledgeable, which is assuring.
Overall, he is the best nephrologist I have ever come across in Mumbai. I highly recommend Dr. Bhurke to anyone with kidney-related issues. I am satisfied with his treatment and thankful for his efforts in keeping my mother's kidney issues under check.
