Many doctors don't arrive on time, don't call patients in an orderly manner, behave high handedly, demean the patient, casual in their approach, engage in non-professional calls, impatient, don't even listen and so don't understand why the patient is in front of them, don't go through previous investigations and history, don't ask relevant questions. Dr Mathur was, pleasantly, the opposite. He was inquiring, empathetic, guiding and suggesting. He was patient, didn't call me when the earlier patient was yet to complete, nor did he call the next patient when I was half way through. After two consultations with him, I developed respect for him as a competent doctor and more importantly as a good human. I hope I won't have to change my impression subsequently.
Treatment is not about showing off that one is a busy doctor assisted by three novices. It is first about CARING (for the patient) and then about CURING (through reassurance and action arising from professional competencies).

The Dr is senior experienced and kind. His medication helped my mother. But the hospital's appointment management is dreadful. Waited for two and a half hours with 94 yr old mother in wheelchair to find Dr had left. Resident Dr did not call out name properly...we didn't hear him at all though we were right there...never moved away from the corridor. Reception desk too on 2 nd floor didn't bother to go to room and follow up about her case. Cannot be condoned. They need a better system and far more sensitivity. I understand the Dr himself would have been very involved with his patients. He was kind enough to message me and apologise and offer another appointment. Jaslok needs to pull up its socks. Didn't expect this from them.

He was very very attentive and explained in minute details. Did not hurry things up as we often see busy doctors do. Gave us options for the treatment he offered and also helped us reach the right decision. Me and my wife left totally satisfied and are eager to meet him again in 4 weeks, which speaks volumes of the trust he has generated. His assistant Dr Purvi Mehta also was of great help. All in all a very satisfying experience
