Dr. Prashant Chhajed received his medical doctorate from the University of Mumbai, India in 1996. In 1998, he was a Fellow in the department of Respiratory Medicine at The Royal Prince Alfred Hospital in Sydney Australia, where he continued as a Fellow in thoracic medicine, and lung transplantation until 2002. After a short stay as a visiting researcher in the department of thoracic surgery at Chiba, University, in Japan, Dr. Chhajed was a Clinical and Research Consultant in pulmonary diseases at the University Hospital in Basel, Switzerland where he received the title of Privat Dozen in 2007. In 2008, he returned to Mumbai India, where he is Director of the Institute of Pulmonology, Medical research & Development and Lung Care & Sleep Centre, Fortis Hiranandani Hospital and Consultant at Lilavati and Nanavati Hospitals, Mumbai. Dr. Chhajed continues to be faculty at the University Hospital Basel, Switzerland.Dr. Chhajed has published more than 110 scientific publications, peer-reviewed original research articles, numerous review articles, editorials and book chapters. He has presented numerous abstracts of his research at national and international meetings, and has received numerous awards for his research presentations. He is a Fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians, and has been elected Treasurer of the Indian Association for Bronchology. He is also Secretary of the European Association for Bronchology and Interventional Pulmonology from 2006 to 2010 & Board member since 2010 up to date. He has been active in numerous national and international organizations, and has served on the program committee and the planning committee of the clinical problems assembly of the American Thoracic Society, and on the governing council of the Indian Association for Bronchology.Dr. Chhajed is a recognized expertise in all facets of bronchoscopy. He has also been an active clinical researcher in the area of asthma, obstructive lung disease and lung transplantation. He has been an invited lecturer at numerous national and international meetings, and he is a well recognized teacher and has been a faculty in numerous bronchoscopy workshops around the world.

My mother was admitted under Dr. Chhajed for Covid complications and he ensured that she came out of it hale and hearty. His clinic is very well maintained and everyone working there is super helpful. Doctor patiently heard everything and was very gentle in his demeanour. I was so impressed that I took my father also to his clinic for a lung check- up. Dr. Chhajjed diagnosed his problem correctly and put him on required meds and my father is now feeling much better. I would hands down recommend Dr. Chhajjed to anyone looking to consult for lung related issues.

I personally visited doctor for 2nd opinion when my mother was admitted for 6 days in ICU and had been diagnosed for bilateral pneumonia and fibre optic bronchoscopy was suggested by treating doctor.Dr. Prashant and his team patiently discussed and reviewed all reports x-ray, CT scan and suggested not to go ahead with bronchoscopy and continue with antibiotics treatment for few days and assured it will get cured.next I visited once my mother was out of ICU and started recovering well, Dr Prashant reviewed the progress and medicine and striked out some medicine which helped to reduce dizziness and increase conciousness level.Doctors ability to understand health condition without seeing patient and just by looking at reports and suggestion on line of treatment helped me make right decision and get my mother out of critical condition shows the amazing experience, knowledge and expertise in lung related health conditions.I highly recommend Dr Prashant and team.

I knew about Dr.Prashant and his expertise on lung disease from the source of google only So today visited to Fortis Hiranandani (Vashi) for My Mom's Checkup.
But this Expert Dr don't have much time for their patients ,so kept some junior dr who will note down all your concern regarding the health and then he explain to Dr Prashant.
So In My case he missed so many things to explain and not checked carefully all her exisiting reports and CT scan /X-ray report which already done before.
So Dr Suggested for some reports and test which already done before but he didnt checked in the files due to short of time.
And they charged 1700 rs for this activity.
Don't visit Fortis Hiranandani for this Dr's Appointment.
