Dr. Harish Shetty

He is a very good Doctor. Not only he, but his team also. Even I went to him with a negative mindset. But things were very different than I thought. We worked as a team and after some trail and errors, came to a resolution as to what will enable me to continue further and it worked.

**** ********** there was little improvement in me. During the course of treatment I developed fear for medicines,when medications started. He does not give much time.He should have help me eek out a living. I told him so many times, to help me find a job, but he did not help me. He was just postponing things, that was the impression which my mother got.I miss him a lot but

I had visited Dr Harish Shetty at the Nityanand Nursing Home, Andheri East. We were suggested to visit this doctor my one of my own family members. The clinic is a small one and doesn’t not accommodate half the people waiting for the appointment. The waiting period for our first appointment exceed for more than an hour as the doctor was late despite taking an appointment.

I had visited this clinic for the first time with my parents for a consultation regarding my father. My father had been under treatment with Dr Shetty for about six months. Dr Harish wasn’t very explanatory about the problem and seemed very calm about it. As the family of the patient we very curious to know certain facts about the illness.

As a part of the treatment, my mother, my aunt and I had to visit the doctor too. In the later stages, my father developed a fear for visiting psychiatrists and was never comfortable visiting the doctor by himself. Due to this, we had to discontinue the treatment and shift to another psychiatrist. The overall experience wasn’t a very comfortable one.

Visiting him since 5-6 months for a second opinion for my mother who is suffering from schizophrenia and depression. He is never on time and conveniently makes his patients wait for more than an hour. Her conditions hasn't improved ******* ***** ******* ****** * ********** ****** ********* *** **** ******* ******* ** ******** ******* *** **** ** ** ******** ****** ****** *** ** *** ********* Since 3-4 visits (which is normally after 15-30 days) whenever we have tried to explain the problem/any new symptoms related to her mental health, Dr.Harish Shetty does not explain the reason for such symptoms and instead looks at his phone appearing to be disinterested and chatting away on Whatsapp even when the patient is trying to talk/explain him. This is very disrespectful. He has total disregards towards his patients feelings. *** ** **** my mother has developed a fear for visiting psychiatrists and is not comfortable visiting any new doctor and also refuses to visit him. He asked us to get full body check-up done for my mother inorder to find the cause for her depressive symptoms and after spending so much money on the tests and was not even interested to read the results and provide any solution. Seems like we would have to discontinue the treatment and shift to another psychiatrist. The overall experience wasn’t a very comfortable one for my mother and our entire family.

The medication given to me never worked. I paid for, and seeked, psychotherapy but was never given any either. Instead of addressing real issues like anxiety and depression I felt like I was lectured for 20 mins every two weeks about being a rebellious teenager that drinks and smokes too much, given a prescription for antidepressants and sent home. I did not gain anything out of this experience, and it burned a hole in my father's pocket.
