Dr. Chinmay Kulkarni is a psychiatrist who believes in rational and realistic ways of therapy in treating patients with emotional and psychological problems. According to him, medicines, counselling and behaviour therapy are important aspects of mental well being. He believes that in today’s fast-changing, stressful world, it has become difficult to maintain mental health. He thinks that in such a situation, intelligence is to take professional help than to suffer alone in silence.

I have visited 3 psychologists in the last one year for my anxiety, depression,helplessness,sleep disorder,smoking and loneliness. the Pshycologists I visited before were not able to identify all my problems. In my first session with Dr.Chinmay itself he pin pointed all my problems and started medication for the same. He is very friendly in nature and asks the right questions and our experiences in different situations to find out all the problems. Its been 3 months since I started my medication and the results were astounding. It felt great just to feel normal in many situations where I used to feel anxious(I used to feel anxious to talk to my superiors and while talking to new people and ruminating about my incapacity in doing thse things).I can see a clear differemce in my professional and personal life.He prescribes generic medicine and the medications are not expensive. I would definitely refer the doctor to anyone who is facing these problems which I faced. Last but not least I am grateful that I met him for my mental health problems and regret not meeting him an year earlier.

Doctor's nature is very friendly, caring and cool. First he listens your problem completely and then properly explains why this happened and how you will overcome. His treatment is very accurate and effective. I suffered from Anxiety and Panic Attacks, but after treatment I fill very much better and day by day my anxiety got cleared. Also in case of emergency also doctor is very helpful. The doses of medicine given by doctor are normal and also doctor explains how medicine will improve your condition. So I went to the doctor for consultation regarding depression and anxiety, something I should have done last year itself.
I have had only 2 sessions up till now, but a brief breakdown as to how it has helped me:
Session 1: through my stories and explanations, he helped me recognize the spectrum of problems I am coping with at the moment. He prescribed some medication and explained the course structure for the same.
Session 2: we went a little more in-depth into my problems and discussed them, where he guided me with a few exercises to follow through with until my next session.
Overall it has been great, but this is my first therapy ever, so I am waiting for more sessions to see further progress.
