I visited Dr. Ashit Sheth after nothing working out with previous doctors and being desperate enough to try anything and highly recommended by a famiily member. Little did I know what I was getting into. I believe Therapy is a collaborative process- a mutual exploration of your self. And the most important thing for any patient to recover is to FEEL SAFE with the therapist. The critical question you is this : Do you feel that your therapist is curious to find out who you are and what you, *** **** ******* ********** ********* **** * Are you just a list of symptoms on some diagnostic questionnaire, or does your therapist take the time to find out why you do what you do and think what you think ?
Dr. Ashit Sheth was not at all interested in knowing my story. All he chose to listen was words and labels like "Drug abuse" "Alcohol abuse" "Bullied" and gave me a diagnosis. I actually caught him talking to his colleagues (a couple of them sit with him always) while I was sharing my intense emotions. He was just not interested at all. I never felt safe and heard by him. He kept telling his assistant who kept writing down a huge list of medicines. I was not convinced, but I was desperate. I tried his medicines for a while. He gave no practical tips except to stay in Mumbai for a while. which I did. *** ********* **** *** ****** *** *********** ****** **** ******** *** **** *** *** **** ** ******* One good thing that happened after I went through this and found out more holistic ways to help myself recover, * ******* *** *** ********* *** ** ** *** * ***** * ***** ********* *** *** **** ** ** ** ***** ***** * **** * ***** * *** ******* ** ** *********** *** * *** **** *** ***** **** ** ********* ***** ** *** ****** ******* *** *** I am not saying choosing to do this will work for everybody.
