Dr. Aabha Nagral correlated symptoms such as mental alertness, Ascites etc with reports of blood test, urine test, portal vein ultrasound scan, MRI and Endoscopy reports, gave me tips for life style change ( diet related and physical exercise) and for remaining in readiness for donor for liver transplant; all these done professionally without creating panic about the disease. After five months of change in life style, I feel much better. Though MELD - Na score has come down to 11, I am advised to get USG of portal vein to ensure improvement in terms of HPT conditions. She is conscious of financial constraints of Retd civil servants and prescribes only such medicines and injections which are necessary for treatment. I feel lucky to have had consulted her switching over from another pvt hospital which had scared me by telling about risk to life bluntly and by prescribing steroid based medicines without confirming auto immunity and recommending immediate transplant of liver. Afterwards, I had consulted experts at AIIMS Delhi too, who recommended same line of treatment as advised by Dr. Nagral.
