Sir, you have completely misunderstood the charges for your 2 year old child. My charges for ALL patients are very simple and the same, and are as follows: My fees + the Cost of vaccine (as per MRP on the label). There's no mark up of any kind. In your case, the consultation fees at the Versova clinic were Rs 600 , cost of injection Rs 1800 and administration charges Rs 100; which totals to Rs 2500. And I recall, the consultation lasted nearly 15 min; in going through the old vaccine records and planning the catch up schedule for the last one year missed out vaccines; and also trying to find out ongoing treatment in the absence of the case paper. Unfortunately, you could not recall the names of the medicines, and I asked you to continue the treatment and show my the case paper on the next day. All this cannot be done in 5 minutes ! Since you paid Rs 600 for this consultation, (not as advance for vaccine), and since you were not carrying money for the vaccine, I offered that you come next day for the vaccine and just pay ONLY the cost of the vaccine, which is Rs 1800. (I usually show the MRP cost on the label before I administer the vaccine, to anyone who has a doubt). THERE WAS NO CHANGE IN PRICE OF THE VACCINE AS ALLEGED BY YOU. Also, since you had not brought the case paper, I promised to explain the treatment when you got the case paper next day, without charging consultation fees again. In fact, I have been very accommodating to you in this whole matter, so I am rather surprised at your misunderstanding. And with me, (like with most doctors), fees are collected after the consultation is done. Be that as it may, I always assure all my patients the best possible advise for their good health.
