Therapy in India is still a subject not openly discussed and widely accepted. At best we are attuned to talk and discuss matters close to our hearts or that bothering us, to our best friends. While this works at times when we are young, things get complicated when we foray into our professional and marital life.

The advent of social media and the need to be connected to number of people virtually has reduced one to one conversation. Lack of communication, intense competition, peer pressure has led us to personalize everything to a point where we believe that whatever is happening in the world is directly connected to us.

Brought up in a patriarchal household, I did not ask questions and tried to seek answers in the outside world. After doing academically and professionally very well, I began to personalize everything around me including my marital life. Marrying a strong independent minded woman only made things worse as now conflicts started to rise.

It came to a point wherein I started to feel that if I don’t get this out of my system (aka mind and body) I am going to blow up.

I had no one to talk to (including the few close friends) and that’s when I was suggested therapy with Bansari.

Bansari was the light which cleared the cobwebs in my mind and heart. Her calm, composed yet assertive personality allowed me to brush out years of dust (read pre-conceived notions, obsessive compulsive behavioral patterns, negative thinking) from my mind. Bansari through her professional techniques successfully depersonalized my thinking and therefore allowed me to look at situations and people as they are. This depersonalization helped me immensely to reduce the stress levels, clear thinking styles, improved my outlook towards the world, and improved my relations with my spouse.

I am immensely grateful to Bansari for helping me in my tough times and showing me path to live a better life.

It's better to get professional help rather than talk to your friends and colleagues about it because a therapist will help you understand yourself better and also improve you. They will explain human psychology to you, help you understand yourself better and in turn you will make better decisions in life.

Ms Bansari explained to me why I was thinking and behaving in a particular way, also pointed out areas in my life where I was going in a circle. We did mental exercise to Deal with the problems and improve on them. She asked me fill work sheets as mental exercises I think of it as mental gym.

I have gained confidence that I can resolve my life issues and do better in life. Therapy has caused a paradigm shift in my way of thinking.

I started therapy as i was struggling with minor depression due to an unsuccessful married life plus my own lack self esteem and negativity mental state.

By taking professional help, i am able to positive steps, albeit small, towards a healthy and happy frame of mind which will help me focus, prioritise and as well be comfortable in who i am and what i can be capable of.
