'Dr. Amar Bariatric & Metabolic Center' is located near Chiranjeevi Blood Bank, Jubilee Hills Check Post, Hyderabad. Dr. Amar is a Senior Consultant Minimal Access Bariatric & Metabolic Surgeon (Laparoscopic Obesity & Diabetes Surgeon). He is the first surgeon from twin states (Telangana & Andhra Pradesh) to successfully complete two year National Board Fellowship in Minimal Access Surgery - FNB (Minimal Access Surgery). To achieve this super speciality degree, he received structured training in laparoscopic, bariatric & metabolic surgeries for two years. He is a Member of Obesity & Metabolic Surgery Society of India – OSSI, International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders - IFSO and a Fellow of Association of Minimal Access Surgeons of India – FMAS. He studied MBBS and MS (General Surgery) at Kurnool Medical College. He is also a Member of Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh - MRCSEd since 2005. He is a Diplomate of National Board since 2006. He has enormous experience in laparoscopic bariatric surgeries for obesity, laparoscopic metabolic surgeries for type 2 diabetes, laparo-endoscopic single site surgeries (LESS) and advanced laparoscopic surgical gastroenterology. He is keenly interested in medical research and published several articles in national and international journals. He is an invited faculty for several national and international conferences, presented several papers and performed live bariatric & metabolic surgeries in these conferences. He regularly conducts continuing medical education programs and support group programs in the field of bariatric & metabolic surgery.
