What if by making just one little change, you could double your weight loss? Ahhh! Sounds too good to be true, but many experts say that the simple process of keeping a food diary can inspire you to eat lesser calories. :)

One thing is sure, keeping a food diary immediately increases awareness of what, how much, and why you are eating. This benefits you cut down on mindless eating.

Why should I keep a diary?

Being more self-aware helps you change your attitude and so curb the calories that contribute to weight gain. By writing it down you become accountable for it, and that can be amazingly encouraging. Get started on yours, and you’ll see why in just a day or two.

How to keep a dairy?

Be sure to include those “incidental” munchies that are notoriously easy to overlook - like that last few spoons of rice you wanted to finish off when your child left it on the plate, or that handful of chiwda in the jar of your kitchen. Be specific while recording the type and amount of food, especially portion sizes; list “4 chocolate cream biscuits,” or “2 katoris bhujia sev.”

Can't it be magic?

We cannot deny the usefulness of following a diet program or eating healthy. But you and your Nutritionist always need a proper assessment of what exactly you followed in the diet which has been mentioned and what exactly it resulted in. On a personal level, a food diary has proven as a very essential tool for me and my clients. Whether they are in-clinic or online clients; a food diary gives a clear picture of what exactly went through in the last few days of your eating life.
