Sexual OCD thoughts can feel terrifying  not just because of the content, but because of the crushing guilt they bring. You might think, "Why did I have that thought? Does this mean something about me?" But here’s the truth: a thought is not an action, and intrusive thoughts don’t define your character. In fact, the very fact that you’re disturbed by them proves your values are intact.

One way to reduce guilt is to name the thought as just that  a thought. Not a truth. Not a desire. Try saying, “This is just my OCD trying to scare me.”

Another tool: self-compassion journaling  write down how you’d comfort a friend in your situation, and then say those same words to yourself.

Guilt thrives in silence. You don’t have to fight this battle alone.
