A drug allergy is basically an allergic reaction to any medication. It can happen to anyone as sometimes the allergens are not known to the patient and the Doctor. If you are taking some medication and realise that you are allergic to it, here’s what to do:

Stop taking the medicine: If you are sure that the medicines are causing any allergic reaction to your body, stop taking the medicine immediately.

Consult your Doctor: The next thing to do is to consult the doctor who prescribed you the medicine. The doctor knows the composition of the medicine better and would be able to prescribe you another medicine as per requirement.

If required, your doctor will also prescribe an antidote to nullify the effects of the previous medicine.

Drug allergies are rarely severe but if you have sudden symptoms like irregular breathing and unconsciousness, it is best to report an emergency at your nearby hospital.
