PCOS is a hormonal disorder with chronic an-ovulatory cycles, high male hormone levels & infertility. Polycystic ovaries: women with higher PCOS may have higher cardiovascular risk, High Cholesterol levels, Type 2 Diabetes, Infertility & Endometrial Cancer. 

PCOS is diagnosed only if two of the following criteria are met:—

  1. Polycystic ovaries (12 or more peripheral follicles, or increased ovarian volume >10cm3)
  2. Clinical or biochemical signs of high levels of androgens or male hormones.
  3. Ultrasound finding of Polycystic ovaries.

Main Problems of Polycystic Ovary Syndrome:-

Women with PCOS / PCOD should be aware of the possible long-term risks to their health if they will not take proper treatment. They should be treated through natural methods, PCOS Counseling Sessions & PCOS Medicines but not pills. 

Women diagnosed with PCOS (or their partners) should be asked about snoring and daytime fatigue/somnolence and informed of the possible risk of sleep apnea. They should be offered investigation and treatment when necessary. 

Weakness & Sleep Apnoea -PCOS or Polycystic ovaries patients should be asked about snoring, & somnolence. As they have PCOS chances of PCOS are an independent risk factor for type 2 diabetes in middle age. this problem.

Type 2 Diabetes & Insulin Resistance - Polycystic ovaries are a risk factor for type 2 diabetes mellitus, in young age as well as in middle age group women. Women presenting with PCOS with obesity have a high chance of type 2 diabetes if not treated properly. 

Heart Problem or Cardiovascular Risk - PCOS patients have a high chance of heart problems, which puts them at increased risk of developing atherosclerosis, which results in MI. Polycystic ovary syndrome Patients who have increased Blood Pressure ≥150mmHg systolic and >90mmHg diastolic, also have a risk increased.

PCOS Infertility - PCOS women have high chances of infertility issues due to chronic an-ovulation

Endometrial Cancer - Scanty periods or no periods for months (amenorrhea) in women with Polycystic ovary syndrome may predispose them to endometrial hyperplasia.
