A symptom is not a diagnosis, especially in anorectal diseases.  Common symptoms like pain while passing stools, bleeding per rectum, constipation, or pain are often assumed to be piles or haemorrhoids, which is not always true.

Reaching a diagnosis without a doctor’s examination can lead to worsening disease and complications. Symptoms always need proper evaluation.

I have seen a patient with severe pain and diarrhoea for 15 days, treated over phone as anal fissure, but it turned out to be an abscess and became complex. Early medical care helps simple treatment and prevents complications while educating patients about their condition.
