- According to new reports as per CDC the RT PCR test detects RNA of dead virus also that sheds in respiratory epithelium upto 1.5 months
- Hence Retesting is no longer recommended as the report of RT PCR can be false positive due to dead virus detection.
- Once a patient is recovered or after home isolation of 10 days with no fever for atleast 3 days the person is declared to be cured.
- The patient should further monitor himself for a period of 7 days for any symptoms.
- The RT PCR COVID swab testing is now not recommended within 3 months after date of symptom onset of early covid infection. These are recent guidelines taken From CDC to update all.
