Typical HSG

Key to a healthy motherhood is starting at the right time.

In todays age where most women are actively engaged in supporting their better halves financially and socially postponed marriages ,late start at family have become norm.  When you are above 30 and so is your partner just make sure you have all the items mentioned here in this checklist tick marked.

1)Normal menstrual cycle

A normal cycle can anywhere be between 25-35days with periods happening almost every month. Flow may vary from2-7 days and pain may be mild.

Frequently delayed or too early period with very heavy or scanty flow points towards ovulatory dysfunction and should be evaluated. Severe pain could indicate a pathology like endometriosis ,PID ,fibroids ,polyps

2)Patent fallopian tubes

A Hysterosalpingogram or HSG is basically a snapshot of your reproductive tract taken while a radio-opaque dye is pushed through your vagina.

Saline salpingogram is similar except done under USG guidance and fluid used is typically saline

3)Male partners semen analysis should be in normal range. Over the last decade the male semen parameters are showing progressive decline with environmental ,life style and stress factors adding to the brunt.

4)Healthy life style not only adds to your energy levels but boosts your chances of pregnancy too. A balanced diet takes care of your prenatal  nutritional needs .Complementing diet with regular exercise even for just 20-30minutes adds to your confidence level and helps beat those mood swings .

5)Some professional guidance. While we all think googling how to get pregnant easily provides all answers ,your gynaecologist can actually give you the nudge in the right direction like the frequency and timing of your intercourse, how to detect if you are at your peak fertility when trying, do`s and don`ts

Happy trying!
