The outpatient departments of state-run hospitals in the city are likely to remain open in the evening, too.“We are finalising a plan to start evening OPDs at state-run medical colleges and other hospitals in the city. The move aims to reduce the load on the day OPDs and ensure better treatment,” a senior official in the state health department said. The OPDs at government hospitals are open from 9am to 2pm. The new service will be available from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm.Some government hospitals in the city run “pay clinics”, where patients are treated against a fee ranging from Rs 400, for a couple of hours after the day OPD closes. The huge rush at the OPDs leaves hardly any time for doctors to examine patients. We are happy to announce you that we are coming with new evening OPD slot
