3) It is found to bind to type two alveolar cells in lungs which is critical in oxygen transfer and manufacture surfactant as coating to protect lungs.
4) It blocks the cytokine storm by attaching to receptors of type 2 alveolar cells and prevent the SARS COV2 virus entry through these receptors.
5). It has been seen to improve pneumonitis and improve oxygenation and prevent ARDS ie Respiratory failure.
6) The drug is being used in trials as intravenous and inhalation also in critical patient before respiratory failure or ARDS sets in.
