Headaches are very common among people but most of us just neglect them. Mostly we can take one or more pills to get rid of them, but sometimes these headaches can become chronic and start affecting our day to day life.

Headaches can be of different types like cluster headache, tension-type headache, migraine, cervicogenic headache.

People having frequent and intense headaches should not ignore them and should get them checked. As it can be because of underlying diseases like eye problem, infection, tumor, etc. which needs assessment and treatment.

Most of the headaches are not because of any underlying disease but due to lack of sleep, stress, skipping of meals, exposure to loud noise or fragrance, and most importantly inaccurate neck posture.

Thus, one can reduce the frequency and intensity of these headaches by following some very simple do's and don'ts.

  • WATER- Drinking enough water is the key and keeping yourself hydrated is very important.
  • SLEEP- Sleep is an important part of our daily living activities so one should never ignore that. Completing 6-8 hours of sleep regularly is the basic need of our body and one should fulfill that to be healthy.
  • FOOD- Skipping a meal is one of the most common causes of headache which people don't normally realize. Especially in these corona times while most of us are at home, meals and work are intermingling which has to be avoided. More importantly, a healthy meal also includes eating with focus only on eating.
  • BREATH- Deep breathing is a very good exercise. Especially when we are under stress our body automatically starts shallow and fast breathing which can become a cause of headaches and pains. So, breathe deep while under stress as it can keep you away from stress generated headaches.
  • EXERCISE AND YOGA- This can work like magic. If the headache is chronic and affecting your life then following specific exercises and yoga posture can keep you away from those tiny pills which may have added side-effects.
