Nutrition is a science and you need in depth understanding and training to become eligible to be called 'Qualified'.

The credentials required for a person to call herself or himself a  Nutritionist are : a minimum of

                                       A Bachelor's Degree (3 years) in Food Science and Nutrition

                                                                             OR

                                                   A Post Graduate Diploma (1.5 years)                                                                                                                                                                   OR

A Master's Degree in Food Science, Nutrition and Dietetics from recognized University with at least  6 months                                                  of clinical setting experience as internship in a multi specialty hospital     

An added mark of Quality is the clearance of a NATIONAL REGISTERED DIETITIAN (R.D.) exam conducted by Indian Dietetic Association every year.

You have a right to know the qualification of the person who is taking care of your nutritional advice. PLEASE BE AWARE and SAFEGUARD yourself. Do Not risk your body to non-scientific experiments of Hit and Trial.
