The credentials required for a person to call herself or himself a Nutritionist are : a minimum of
A Bachelor's Degree (3 years) in Food Science and Nutrition
OR
A Post Graduate Diploma (1.5 years) OR
A Master's Degree in Food Science, Nutrition and Dietetics from recognized University with at least 6 months of clinical setting experience as internship in a multi specialty hospital
An added mark of Quality is the clearance of a NATIONAL REGISTERED DIETITIAN (R.D.) exam conducted by Indian Dietetic Association every year.
