Taking care of kid's nutrition at an early stage is utmost important. A small kid should be provided with
nutrient dense foods to have strong resistance power to fight against chronic health issues in near future.
Basic things to keep in mind while planning a meal for a kid are such as :-
A) A small kid should be provided with all foods from each foods groups like cereals and cereal products, all pulses and legumes, green vegs,leafy vegs and other vegs, fruits, non-veg food items from 9months onwards in easily digestible forms such as egg yolk in well mashed form by mixing with
soft cooked rice and plain dhal soup, etc. at first in small quantities.
B) Try to feed foods on each 2 to 2.5hrs of gaps in small amounts for being easily digestible.
C) Try to give foods at an early stage in a well cooked form and pureed forms,gradually
introduce with semi solid to then solid forms.
D) Ensure that the kid will digest the foods given properly as well as optimum levels
of water intake should be fed to the kid when the kid needs.
E) Try to breastfed the kid till 8 to 9months of age group along with foods.
F) Try to add on nuts like almonds/walnuts/pistachios etc either into the oats/
semolina/daliya porridge in crushed form in small amounts.
G) Try to give fruits in juice form or stewed or well pureed form at an early stage
for proper digestion.
and last but not the least H) Try to maintain a food dairy for your kid to track down
what kinds of foods you are giving to your kid along with
water intake amount.
Thus,these are some of the basic guidelines to follow while feeding your small
kid/toddler.
