Imaging tests are used to create pictures of the inside of our body. These pictures can help doctors diagnose and treat various health conditions.
The most common imaging tests are X-ray, MRI, CT scan and Sonography. Each test is used for a different purpose, let's discuss when and what they can show:
1. X-rays creates images of bones and other dense tissues, thus aiding in the detection of broken bones, joint issues, and specialized tests for the alimentary system can be conducted with the assistance of radio-opaque dye.
2. MRI create images of your soft tissues, such as muscles, ligaments, and organs. It can help diagnose back pain, head injuries, and certain cancers.
3.Sonography creates images of your organs and tissues. It can help check your pregnancy, but it can also detect liver, kidney, and gallbladder problems.
4. CT Scan creates cross-sectional images (slices) of your body from different angles. It is also useful for examining people with internal injuries.
Please note that this is general information only. You should always consult a doctor before undergoing any medical test. Do not try to self-diagnose based on this information.
