Pcos is a lifestyle metabolic disorder which can be reversible through a proper diet with lifestyle
modification.
Signs and symptoms: - 1) Irregular or prolonged menstrual cycle.
2) Mood swings.
3) Excess androgen.
4) Feeling fatigue.
5) Increased food cravings especially towards sweets.
and last but not the least,in later stage 6) Infertility issue.
Causative factors : - 1) Obesity.
2) Faulty eating habits.
3) Excess of stress.
and 4) Disturbed sleep in night time.
Here i am mentioning some of the healthy breakfast options:- A) Whole wheat /multigrain flour chapati+ any green veg curry/mix.veg stir fry/legumes curry.
B) Oats flour plain cheela/ragi flour veg stuffed cheela with low fat curd raita/any green chutney like
mint leaves chutney.
C) Semolina veg upma/ quinoa veg added upma + clear veg soup/lean chicken soup(home made)/
veg sambar/chickpeas curry/mutter curry
D) Brown bread veg stuffed sandwich/multi grain bread carrot & tomato stuffed sandwich+
eggwhite poach/low fat paneer bhurji.
E) Flaked rice veg poha/ oats veg upma/daliya veg upma + corriander chutney/tomato chutney/
plain dhal/low fat plain curd.
F) Ragi porridge/oats porridge/quinoa porridge adding some fruits or a few roasted seeds like
flax seeds/pumpkin seeds/chia seeds.
G) Steamed semolina idli/ragi idlis/oats veg stuffed idlis + plain dhal sambar/veg sambar/
kabuli chana curry/roasted chana dhal chutney/any green chutneys.
H) Jowar flour /bajra flour plain phulkas or chapatis + legumes curry/any veg curry/
any green veg stir fry(less amount healthy cooking oil like olive oil).
Thus, in pcos management diet plays an important role with regular exercise.Infertility
issue can be resolved by having a healthy diet along with focussing on lifestyle changes.
