Brushing will never be enough and you know it. The tight spaces in between your teeth will never allow bristles of the brush for complete cleaning.
Ever since our mothers or fathers stopped brushing our teeth for us, we have been asked to brush twice a day to maintain oral hygiene. The fine bristles of a brush may clean the easily accessible areas of the teeth, but will not clean the tight spaces between nor the pockets in your gums surrounding the tooth. Tight spaces, Pockets! Say what ?
The area where the gum line starts below the crown of the tooth is where tiny 2mm - 4mm pockets accumulate food debris and plaque unseen to the naked eye. This sticky plaque film if left unchecked, starts calcifying and results in serious gum issues, chronic bad breath and decay of teeth.
The video demonstrates flossing techniques and it is still strongly advise you start flossing up close in front of a mirror to get a good look at what you are doing. It isn’t enough to simply floss but to floss correctly. Improper flossing can potentially damage your gums if you push the floss too hard or it may not even do you any good.
You will immediately feel fresher after flossing and notice the change that a brush just could not have achieved. Brushing twice a day, flossing once day, and scheduling dental cleaning twice a year, will ensure your teeth a long and healthy life.
