Fibromyalgiais a very common disease, it is a musculoskeletal disorder and a type of nervepain or neuropathic pain in which patients get chronic pain that is widespread over their entire body. It often tends to isolate and locate in the neck and shoulder area but it can be anywhere.
Many patients with fibromyalgia have insomnia (sleeping problem), tenderness at multiple muscular points, fatigue, tension headaches, dysmenorrhea, they mayalso have irritable bowel, alternating diarrhoea & constipation, mood disorders like depression and anxiety, cognitive disturbances which include disturbance in short-term memory & thinking.
Fibromyalgia can be precipitated by a physical or emotionally stressful event like a road traffic accident or death of a close one, poor posture, tight clothing or belts can restrict blood flow, infective illness, and the person with a rheumatic disorder like rheumatoid arthritis, spinal arthritis or lupus arthritis are atvery high risk of fibromyalgia.
Patientswith fibromyalgia develop pain and it won’t go away.
Fibromyalgiais more common in women than men. And develops at the age of 20 to 35.
To overcome fibromyalgia take a higher dose of all vitamins (especially vitamin Cand B complex) and minerals. Consume 4 to 5 small meals daily, increase fruits,vegetables, whole grains, raw nuts, seeds, and fish.
Physiotherapy treatment of Fibromyalgia includes: thermal therapy to relieve morning stiffness. Acupuncture/dryneedling.

Strengthening exercise 2-3 days per week.
