WHAT IS MIGRAINE ?
- Migraine is a complex disorder wherein patient experiences headache which is characterized by intense throbbing pain on one side which is usually accompanied by sensitivity to light & noise with nausea and vomiting , touch sensitivity.·
- WHO (World Health Organization ) rating has placed migraine among the most disabling disease along with psychosis and dementia.
CAUSESOF MIGRAINE : The exact cause of migraine is not known , but it is believed to be a combination of environmental , genetic and biological factors.
TYPE OF MIGRANE :
1. MIGRAINE WITH AURA .
2. MIGRAINE WITHOUTAURA .
3. CEREBROVASCULAR MIGRAINE .
- CLUSTER HEADACHE – Cluster headache is characterized by a cluster of pain in head, face and back . The pains are usually throbbing pains.
- These pains may be accompanied by nausea, vomiting, photophobia and phonophobia.
CONVENTIONAL METHODOLOGY :Pharmacological treatment for migraine includes NSAID'S ( non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) , antiemetics , triptans ( SERETONINRECEPTOR AGONISTS ) and ergot alkaloids.
ROLE OF HOMOEOPATHY IN MIGRAINE TREATMENT :
Homoeopathic treatments for migraine usually fall into two broad categories.
