yes yastimadhu is used for gastritis. Should be taken as adviced by the Ayurvedic physician. As the quantity consumed is usually very minor so no side effects are seen. In large quantities or prolonged usage it is reported to cause hypertension.

Please avoide self medication.
Such problems can be treated with Ayurvedic medicines and diet and lifestyle management. Ayurvedic medicines have very good results for such problems.
