Ideally x ray should be avoided in pregnancy or can be done as urgent investigations with abdominal shielding. But hand x ray and in very early conception should not be a problem

X-ray radiation will not cause cancer Single x-ray exposure is less than 5 Milli rads which generally would not cause any birth defects X rays should ideally be avoided in pregnancy especially in the first trimester whn the organs are forming The level one and the level two scans would rule out any defects
